Sandcastle (Ft Morgan)

house was awesome

We enjoyed the house, however encountered several problems: 1) I received a text message saying that the house was ready, however when we got there the air conditioning was not working and it was extremely hot, took them 3-4 hours to fix the problem; 2) No Wi Fi until Wednesday, we arrived the Saturday before; 3) No showers downstairs until Wednesday 4) The patio furniture broke when my brother tried to sit on it and the other pieces were already broken 5) The gas grill was filthy and hadn't been cleaned; 6) Ice maker in house needed a part and the person that showed up told us that we would have to buy ice (You need to take that off as an amenity on your listing) We made the best out of a bad situation and still had a great time. When we called the company they were fairly responsive.

We loved the location of the Sancastle house and it had lots of space. The pool was outstanding! Nice outdoor shower. The house was older and needs some updates. The 5th bedroom had folding doors, very loud for sleeping. It was advertised with 3 full baths, but has 2 1/2. The house was not real clean. If you moved furniture, dirt and ants underneath. Outside furniture wore out. Management company was very responsive to calls about ants in kitchen, bathtub slow draining, animal fesces on deck.

Great house. Easily slept 12 people. All amenities needed were available. It’s an easy 1/4 mile walk to the beach. We used the vehicle to transport chairs and tents the first day and left everything on the beach the remainder of the week. Very private and secure beach. The pool is very nice and made a great end to the day at the beach. Property is about 20 min to Gulf Shores where you can go to restaurants and shopping. There are also 2 small local markets about a mile away for just about anything you need, but a little pricey. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

We loved our stay at Sandcastle. The kitchen is very large, giving space for adults and children to move around freely. The laundry room is an added bonus. It was listed as a 3 bath house when we booked, but as others have mentioned it is only a 2 1/2 bathrooms. It does have 2 outdoor showers and toilet (lower level by the pool) which was very handy. It is about a 3 block walk to the beach. We usually took everyone to the beach by vehicle and then one would take the vehicle back and walk down to the beach (there is no beach parking available). We (as others have mentioned) did leave our tent and chairs at the beach for the week and did not encounter any problems. Beach is very nice and not crowded at all. We hired a local photographer and had family pictures taken while there.The neighbors 2 doors to the west are a very sweet retired couple. They will give you rides to be beach in their golf cart! We did most of our shopping in Gulf Shores which is about 20 minutes away. We also ate out a few times, did a deep sea fishing trip, dolphin excursion in the bay and enjoyed the arcade and miniature golf. The kids loved seeing the dolphins and would recommend. Overall a great family vacation! We were a party of 6 adults, 4 children & one baby. Oh, the can opener does not work so that needs to be replaced. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
