At Living the Dream, you don’t have to go far to see the natural beauty that Ruidoso is known for; you simply have to look out the window. Located 7,300 feet above sea level, this three-bedroom home provides panoramic scenes of the Sierra Blanca range and lush woodlands. Not only can you relish the view from the upstairs great room or the downstairs den, but you can also revel in the sights and sounds from the spacious decks.

Living the Dream’s main deck is an especially blissful space for savoring the pine-fragranced mountain breezes and the sight of eagles soaring across the sky. It’s furnished with a well-cushioned sofa, rockers, and for the ultimate in luxury, a hot tub. Start your day with a soak as the sun rises over the mountains; end your evening among the massaging jets of water in the silvery moonlight. This is what vacations are all about!

Sliding glass doors connect the deck to the great room. Decorated in upscale Southwestern style, this space is just as restful as the deck. The leather couch and matching armchairs invite you to kick back and relax. Whether that means watching a movie on the flat-screen TV, surfing the web via the complimentary WiFi, or playing charades is up to you. On brisk winter evenings, the wood-burning fireplace within its handsome stone surround will bathe the room in a warm glow.

The great room includes the dining room, where six people can linger over a second helping of dessert. There’s a wet bar in the corner as well, with a pair of stools where you and a friend can catch up on all the gossip of the day. Plus, two more people can sidle up to the breakfast bar.

On the other side of the breakfast bar is Living the Dream’s kitchen. Its stainless-steel appliances, gleaming countertops, and abundance of cookware and tableware might have you eager to cook those elaborate feasts you never have time for at home. Outside, there’s a gas grill where you can cook trout you reel in from nearby Alto Lake—or steaks from the supermarket. Even if you prefer dining out at the numerous local eateries, you’ll still appreciate having a coffeemaker to brew your morning cup of joe, a refrigerator to keep milk and soft drinks cold, and a blender for mixing smoothies in the morning or margaritas at night.

Also on the main floor is the primary suite. You can decide for yourself which is its most appealing feature: the lofty king-size bed, private bathroom, flat-screen TV, or the awe-inspiring mountain view you’ll wake up to. And let’s not forget the direct access to the deck: You and your sweetheart can slip outside to listen to the owls beneath the star-studded sky without waking the others.

Living the Dream’s two additional bedrooms are downstairs. Each has its own king-size bed to sprawl out on at the end of an action-packed day. There’s a second bathroom down here too, plus the roomy den. Like the great room, the den features a flat-screen TV. There’s a pub-style game table as well, so don’t forget to pack your Scrabble board. The den even has a desk, should you need to squeeze in some work during your stay—just don’t let the glorious mountain view distract you!

Living the Dream’s other amenities include a washer and dryer, a handy half-bath, and ample parking. And despite the privacy and quiet of the locale, the home is just a short drive from downtown Ruidoso’s galleries and boutiques, Ski Apache, the Hubbard Museum of the American West, golf courses, hiking and mountain biking trails, casinos, and Ruidoso Downs. (Keep in mind that since this is mountain and snow country, in winter vehicles with four-wheel drive or tire chains are strongly advised.)

It’s easy to see how Living the Dream got its name: Staying here really is a dream come true. Experience it for yourself: Book your stay today.
