Description
Galvez Getaway features a three bedroom, two full bath home with a fenced/electronic entry gate and off street parking. The exterior of the home is all Galveston! Charming and quaint with plenty of room for all 10 guests (best suited for 8 adults, 2 children). This historic home has an large living room and separate dining area with table to seat 6, large fully outfitted kitchen with with additional seating for 4. The kitchen also has a very large pantry for storing your supplies and luggage once you are unpacked! This is a large kitchen that has been updated, stainless appliances, pots and pans, Keurig (bring your own K-Cups please), 12-cup drip coffee pot, crock pot, blender, toaster - everything you can think of for cooking every meal!
The sleeping accommodations are as follows. The primary bedroom has a king bed, en suite bath with step in shower (no tub), and television in the primary. The TVs are all Smart HDTVs in all 3 bedrooms, streaming Netflix, Amazon, You Tube TV, know your login please! The second bedroom also has a king bed and smart TV. The third bedroom features unique bunk beds that are built into the space - Two bunks that are twin on top and queen size on the bottom - please see photographs of this unique bunk configuration. This bunk room will sleep 6. The living area also has a queen sleeper sofa to be used as alternative sleeping (not additional guests).
IN TOWN
Staying in town or near one of Galveston's Historic Districts has its own set of perks and is very different from the West End or near East Beach. Many in town homes are walking distance to the seawall, the beach, restaurants, shopping, the Historic Strand & Postoffice district, the Pleasure Pier, museums, the Galveston-Bolivar Ferry, plenty of other attractions, things to do, grocery stores, Texas A&M University, Shriner’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House and UTMB (University of Texas Medical Branch), one of the largest, most technologically sophisticated emergency care facilities in the world, a level 1 trauma and burn center.

This home is pet-friendly. One pet is allowed. All pets must be registered, and pet fee ($100/pet) must be paid upfront. Outside the home, dogs must be leashed at all times, and owners are responsible for picking up after dogs. Please review Ryson’s 'Tips for Traveling with Pets' for additional information.

Events, parties, or guests attending prom are prohibited at this home, as well as any type of large gathering with guests not listed on the reservation's Guest Registration or exceeding the maximum occupancy. These provisions are strictly enforced by Ryson Vacation Rentals, and GARM (Galveston Association of Rental Managers) security. If any questions, please contact Ryson.
This vacation home should accommodate up to 2 vehicles to be parked at the property. Carpooling is highly recommended. Vehicles should be parked in the driveway or designated parking space. At no time should any vehicle be parked on lawns, yards or dune. Many HOAs do not allow parking for trailers, RVs, boats, etc. Please contact Ryson with any questions.
Outside/exterior security surveillance is present at this home for the security of the home and our guests.
Even if listed as a provided amenities, Ryson is unable to guarantee specific cable package, network or channels or cable and internet signal quality and cable may not be available on all TVs. Oftentimes additional TVs are available for guests wanting to hook up their own game systems or streaming devices.
All reservations require a completed Ryson Rental Agreement, and the agreement holder must be at least 25 years of age to rent this property and provide a valid ID at check-in. Check-in time is 4 pm and check-out time is at 10 am.
EXTENDED STAYS
Monthly rentals are considered in the off-season - Winter Texans, snowbirds, retirees, corporate stays, medical professionals, university students and plant workers are welcome. Extended stays or monthly rentals require a stay of 30+ nights, and these reservations are tax exempt. This is an immediate savings of 15%! Although most extended stay reservations are between the middle of November through February, extended stays may be considered anytime between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Extended stay reservations may not be placed online, but a Ryson Vacation Planner would love to answer any questions you may have and help you reserve your extended stay.

The house is nicely updated and really cute. The bed was comfortable and the a/c worked well. The kitchen is fully equipped and easy to make a great meal at home. We enjoyed having 2 dining areas. It was nice having off-street parking in the back of the home. It would be especially nice if there was a way to unlock the back door from outside, instead of parking in back and going all the way around front to unlock the house. We did have quite a bit of trouble with the locks not working properly, and at one point, were locked out of the house for over 45 minutes, while we waited for maintenance to come with a key to let us in, as the coded lock device would not open the deadbolt. Leaving a key in the combo lockbox would be helpful in the instances where the mechanics fail. The yard is fully fenced and safe for pets. The house needs some underpinning so that animals and small children won\'t be tempted to go under the house, though. Just keep an eye on them and they\'ll be fine! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The house itself is very enjoyable.
