Where you'll be
Description
Ideal for get-togethers, the main level has an open concept that is highlighted by hardwood floors, coffered ceilings in the kitchen, and cathedral ceilings with exposed beams in the great room. Grab a seat on one of the comfy sofas to watch TV with the glow of the gas fireplace in the background.
The fully equipped kitchen makes the preparation of home-cooked meals easy, and there's plenty of seating with both a dining table and a breakfast bar. Plus, the deck is just a few steps away if you want to use the grill.
The den is a warm and inviting space where you can watch TV, play foosball, or break out the board games. Everyone will appreciate having this extra hang-out space.
A primary suite on the main level gives you a relaxing spot to unwind at the end of the day. Sink into the king bed to catch up on your beauty sleep.
Upstairs, there are two well-appointed bedrooms each is furnished with a queen bed. For your convenience, there is a full bath on this floor as well.
Another great place to unwind is the lower-level family room. The gas fireplace provides the perfect ambiance to watch your favorite movie, and you can keep snacks and drinks handy at the wet bar with a mini fridge.
There is also a suite on the lower level with a queen bed where you can rest up after a day on the slopes. Rounding out the sleeping quarters is a bedroom with two bunk beds with a twin trundle. This is the perfect place for the kids!
The expansive covered deck beckons you to spend time enjoying the refreshing mountain weather and the natural beauty of the area. After a day on the slopes or hiking trails, take a dip in the bubbling hot tub for total relaxation.
Skiers and boarders in your group will love the easy slope access. You are within about 200 yards from the expert slope, Mainstreet. You can ski all day and stop by the house to grab a bite to eat before heading back out.
Another perk of the Highline Community is its proximity to the Adventure Sports Center. You can walk to the manmade river to experience a thrilling guided white water rafting trip.
The convenient location means the best of Deep Creek is at your fingertips. Restaurants, shops, and marinas are all close-by. Drive just a few minutes further to reach the sandy beach at Deep Creek Lake State Park or Maryland's Tallest Waterfall at Swallow Falls State Park.
During the winter months, the skiers in your crew will love the proximity to Wisp Resort. You can ski, snow tube, or ride the mountain coaster. When the snow melts, Wisp offers ziplines, golf, disc golf, scenic chairlift rides, and more!
Within a five to ten-minute drive, you will find restaurants, shops, the grocery store, jet ski rentals, and popular Deep Creek Lake activities. For summer fun, stop by a marina to rent a boat for the day. You can cruise quiet coves, pull the kids on a tube, or dock at a waterfront restaurant for lunch.
Deep Creek Lake State Park is nearby with a sandy beach for swimming, kayak and canoe rentals, playgrounds, picnic areas, hiking trails, and more! The area has several options for mini golf and arcades, and you can follow that up with home-made ice cream at the Lakeside Creamery.

Lots of room to spread out and a wonder main floor for socializing. The additional family room in the basement is great. The all season room with 2 sets of bunks and fosse ball is also great. The den served us well for a bed room for my 1 year old granddaughter. There is a portable/travel crib in the house. It was not listed in the amenities so we brought one. Check to make sure it is still available so you don’t have to bring one. Guests can use the garage which was really nice. Community trash bin was difficult to find based on directions provided, but in actuality was simply a right turn out of Highline Rd and up the hill about 250 yards on the left hidden between two treed areas behind black chain linked fence.

Thank you for your detailed review! We're glad to hear that the layout and amenities of the home worked well for your family, especially for your granddaughter. We'll definitely look into updating our listing to clarify the availability of the portable crib and to improve the directions for the community trash bin. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us enhance our guests' experience. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

We stayed at the Highland Cottage in McHenry. The place is huge, beautiful and had everything we needed. We were able to cook a Thanksgiving meal with the kitchen equipment that was provided (minus staples like salt, pepper, oil). The area is full of amazing homes and the neighborhood was just beautiful for a walk with our dogs who stayed with us. The hot tub on the covered porch was a real treat after a full meal! One of the gas fireplaces wouldn't light and they responded to my voice message from Wednesday on Thanksgiving day by sending a gentleman over to fix it--he was very nice and we appreciated that a lot. Two small things, for the high cleaning fee, there wasn't a ton of attention to detail in cleaning (kitchen splatters, dirt on floors...) and they request you take the garbage to the community dumpster but there are no directions on getting there (to the main road, go right, and it's on the left behind a black fence). All in all, this was a great experience.

This house is much larger than it appears in the photos. Twelve people would have more than enough space to spread out. The office space is private and includes a monitor, we had no issues with multiple people working from the house and connected to the wifi. The customer service was great. I called the rental office on the first day of our trip to report a few minor issues, one being that the house didn't have a full size coffee pot, a new coffee pot was delivered to us in about 15 minutes.
