Description
Enjoy the weather relaxing at the outside picnic area with seating and BBQ grill. These cottages are across the street from the Lamar public boat ramp making it the perfect spot for a fishing vacation. You are also only a short drive away from Goose Island State Park where you can enjoy fishing and bird watching. This is also the location of the Big Tree which was named the State Champion Coastal Live Oak in 1966 and although it no longer holds the title it is still one of the biggest Live Oak trees in Texas. You are also near the Copano Causeway wade fishing area and boat ramp. Lamar also has great places to eat like Pop's Tavern and Cafe where you can order delicious steaks, seafood, and burgers.
These cottages are also about a 20 minute drive to downtown Rockport that is filled with shops and restaurants if you feel like a night out and some fresh seafood on the water. If you feel like shopping than you can grab a cup of coffee at the Daily Grind and walk along Austin Street and visit the shell shops and cute clothing boutiques. Spend a day in the sun at the Rockport Beach where you can rent jet skis, swim with the kids, or grill up some food at one of the picnic areas. The Rockport Beach also allows fishing and is only five dollars for a day pass or 20 dollars for a year pass. There are two piers at the Rockport Beach, the south pier is free and the north pier has a beach admission fee. There is also a boat ramp. We have a list of fishing guides on our site as well.

Everything was clean and in working order. I would only have one negative thing to say and that is we did not feel comfortable using the water as it smelled like sewer. We ended up having to brush our teeth with bottled water. We only showered because we had to but it smelled really bad.

Thank you so much for this feedback, Christina. My home uses well water, so sometimes it's best to let the faucet run for a few seconds before use.

The parking was an issue - maybe make it more clear on where you can park boat and vehicle Also- one of the listed amenities was laundry, but this unit did not have a washing machine. Loved the patio space outside and the how clean everything was!
