This property is not toddler friendly. Several outlets had no cover plates or were exposed and dangerous for children/pets. Also the handle bar in the shower is broken which could be a safety hazard if someone grabs it not realizing it's broken. Timer on clothes dryer does not turn off so that's also a safety hazard.

Great location to walk around the south point of Topsail. It’s about 2 miles round trip and a beautiful relaxing walk along the bay and ocean as long as it’s not high tide. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Furniture and porch are well worn but were comfy and relaxing. Mostly quiet, family neighborhood feel with no commercialization. Just a few minutes drive up Anderson are a few restaurants, recreation, ice cream, books, and small beach market. Surf City has many more options only 20 minutes drive. We’d stay again for sure and the price was reasonable.

Carolina Retreats guest services were responsive and professional. We had an issue with the house and they were willing to do whatever it took to correct the issue.

Functional, and well located. Being at the end of the island away from big parking lots you won’t experience overload of traffic and beach is only occupied by locals. 5 min drive to restaurant and convenience store. Functional, it had all you need for vacation of 4…5. If you looking for beautiful well appointed place this ain’t it. But for us with two dogs and 3 grown teenagers worked well, but it was last minute decision to come to the island and visit friends. Definitely wouldn’t entertain anyone here as it didn’t present itself. Overall we enjoyed staying at the island and the location was perfect for us.
