Mountain High View
Where you'll be
Description
The upper story is the heart of Mountain High View, with soaring ceilings, huge windows, and an inviting interior that may convince you to forgo the attractions of Gatlinburg for just one or two nights in favor of family time at home. You will make wonderful new memories here!
The design is open plan, so the kitchen and dining area segues into the living space seamlessly, keeping everyone together even when part of your group is watching a show on TV while others whip up a tasty snack in the fully appointed kitchen. In addition to the long, beautiful wood dining table for six, a handy bistro table sits bathed in sunlight in one corner of the room, just right for morning coffee, quick games of gin rummy and uploading vacation pics onto laptops and tablets courtesy of the free Wi-Fi. You will love this little niche, with its breathtaking views in multiple directions.
The living area is welcoming and spacious, with a sofa, three huge recliners ideal for impromptu napping, a TV with cable, a DVD player, VCR and a gas fireplace situated so that everyone in the room can enjoy its warmth and light. Soft carpeting encourages the kids to sprawl on the floor with their toys, while the grown-ups enjoy a frothy blender drink and unwind after a busy day in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Anakeesta or downtown Gatlinburg.
The kitchen at Mountain High View is terrific for large groups. You'll find all the cookware, dishes, utensils and gadgets you could wish for, plus full-sized appliances and countertop time-savers from a coffeemaker to a microwave, toaster and blender. Even if you're planning to sample Gatlinburg's fine restaurants while on vacation, this kitchen makes it easy for you to toss a few groceries into the fridge and always have drinks and snacks handy, not to mention plates and silverware for takeout and leftovers.
Opening out from the main living and dining area is the beautiful wraparound wooden deck, overhung with trees and offering panoramic views of hillsides, meadows and sky. There's a hot tub out here that easily accommodates four people, offering total privacy in the crisp, open air of this mountain paradise. End your evening with a glass of wine and one of the best views you'll ever find, all in bubbly comfort!
The upper story includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The primary suite is heavenly, featuring a king-size bed, heart-shaped Jacuzzi built for two, private TV and en-suite bathroom. After days filled with people and activity, you will love returning to this cozy, private space! With plenty of storage and a charming country decor, the primary bedroom is simply perfect!
For getting up and out of the house quickly in the morning, the primary bathroom is ideal. Here you'll find a walk-in shower and plenty of storage space for your toiletries. All towel sets and sheets are provided for every bed and bath at Mountain High View, including the sleeper sofa in the living room, so you can pack light and rest assured that everyone in the group can get showered and changed in comfort each day.
The second bedroom on the upper floor is dreamy as well. A queen-size bed takes pride of place here, along with a TV, a bureau for stashing your vacation clothes and access to the second full bathroom, which includes a shower/tub combo. Cheery country decoration makes this room snug and pretty!
The first floor of Mountain High View is a mecca for game lovers of all ages. The huge rec room here includes a pool table, foosball, darts, card table and a big TV. Sink onto the comfy suede sofa and enjoy a real conversation, uninterrupted by anything except the laughter of your loved ones as they indulge in old-fashioned family games. The game room also includes a microwave, mini-fridge and coffeemaker, so you don't have to run upstairs every time the gang needs refreshments!
The third bedroom and bathroom are also on the first floor. The bedroom is a wood-paneled den just right for sleeping late! Its full-size bed is very comfy, and this room has easy access to the full bathroom, which offers a shower/tub combo. And because the first floor has its own exterior entry, you can treat this floor as a self-contained apartment—just right for teenagers, another couple traveling with you or grandparents! A wraparound deck with patio furniture and incomparable views surrounds this floor. Paradise!
Mountain High View is close to the National Park and all the attractions of downtown Gatlinburg, yet it seems wonderfully remote and private. You will love staying here, discovering the beauty waiting just beyond the decks, and savoring the fresh mountain air. Make this lovely house your Gatlinburg go-to for memorable vacations in every season!

Cabin needed a list of minor repairs, it took over 24 hrs to get a door lock installed so the cabin was secure when we left. Left did get light bulbs that were missing and an interior door knob replaced on a bedroom door(had to prop it shut with something from the inside).

We enjoyed our stay and made many memories at this cabin. The house is outdated but it was clean and smelled very clean. There is no light in the kitchen but we took a lamp from the master bedroom and put it on the table. Washer and dryer is down stairs in the basememt as well as the game room and extra bedroom and bathroom. Beware if you are cooking for a big family (we only had 4 in our family) there will not be enough pots and pans. They have enough plates and silverware just not pots and pans. House is easy to find with Google maps.
