Where you'll be
Description
Big Bear is a three bedroom, two-level cabin built by the same an experienced carpenter who, in the 1940s, constructed the rest of Apache Village. In ensuing years, the cabin has been updated to meet the needs and desires of today’s visitors, while still retaining the beautiful handcrafted details of the original cabin. Knotty pine walls and beamed ceilings complement a large stone fireplace in the living room. It feels so good to snuggle up in the overstuffed furniture and listen to the crackling fire while you watch your favorite shows on the large flat-screen TV with cable.
Just off the main living room is the kitchen that’s outfitted with everything you need to prepare your group’s favorite dishes, serve them and clean up with ease. You even have a dishwasher and double oven perfect for handling the appetites of a large, hungry group. You can serve everyone around the dining room table. If additional seats are needed, you can set up four people at the breakfast bar. You’ll love the handsome bear mosaic above the cooktop and the hand-hewn log bench at the breakfast bar. These are just two of many thoughtful touches you’ll find throughout Big Bear.
The primary bedroom at Big Bear is a cozy enclave with a beautifully carved log bedstead housing a queen-size bed. A unique carved end table adds to the charm of this special room. You’re sure to sleep well in this private sanctuary. The primary bathroom continues the log cabin feel with its knotty pine walls and lengthy log vanity. You have a shower/tub combination that’s perfect for bathing both adults and any young children in your group.
The second and third bedrooms also include queen-size beds and the large gathering room on the lower floor features a queen-size sofa sleeper and an alcove with twin bunk beds that are ideal for children. The second Big Bear bathroom includes a walk-in shower.
Who could resist the charm of Dancing Bear, a 2 bedroom cabin? Within walking distance of the quaint village of Ruidoso and close to the Sierra Blanca mountain range, this charming two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom cabin is perfect for outdoor-loving families or groups of friends.
Full of rustic charm, Dancing Bear combines modern comfort with vintage appeal. The snug living room features a colorful area rug, sumptuous leather sofa facing two large picture windows and a flat-screen cable HDTV. A cozy table for four at the far end of the living room is a great spot to bond over a family meal or a game of cards. A small, galley kitchen includes a double sink, mini fridge, microwave, stovetop, coffeemaker and enough cookware and utensils for you to prepare anything from a country breakfast to an afternoon snack.
To ensure you and your family are well rested for the amazing sporting activities the area has to offer, Dancing Bear has two bedrooms with space to sleep up to six people. One bedroom has a comfortable queen-size bed and an overhead ceiling fan to lull you to sleep. A futon provides a great place to relax with a good book, or you can unfold it to sleep two more! The second bedroom features twin bunk beds (kids especially will love these!) and a cozy, built-in window seat. In addition to the full bathroom with shower/tub combo, a half bathroom adds much-appreciated convenience. Both bathrooms will be well stocked with clean, fluffy towels.
Everything about Sleeping Bear another 2 bedroom cabin speaks of comfort, charm and coziness. Chinked walls and tin ceilings add to the Old-World atmosphere. The snug living room’s knotty pine walls and floor coupled with the rustic wood accent pieces give it a feeling of light and warmth. A cozy, upholstered sofa with nail head trim is an inviting spot to curl up and enjoy your favorite show on the large, flat-screen cable HDTV. A farmhouse table for four at the far end of the living room is a great spot to enjoy a family meal or a board game. The small but complete kitchen includes a double sink, full-size fridge, microwave, stovetop, toaster and enough cookware and utensils for you to prepare anything from a country breakfast to an afternoon snack.
To ensure you and your family are fresh and ready for the amazing sporting activities the area has to offer, Sleeping Bear has two bedrooms with room to sleep up to six people. One roomy bedroom boasts two comfortable queen-size beds set among unique tree trunk pillars. An overhead ceiling fan lulls the occupants to sleep. The second bedroom features a full-size bed and access to the shared deck via a set of sliding glass doors. The full bathroom has a shower/tub combo and is well stocked with clean, fluffy towels.
Sleeping Bear is easy to access through a front deck level. Out back is a large, partially covered shared deck with multiple chairs plus a gas grill, making it an ideal setting for hosting a barbecue.
You also have a large covered deck with a gas grill in case you want to prepare the fish you’ll catch in the Ruidoso River, Grindstone Lake or Lake Alto. Ruidoso is a fisherman’s dream vacation destination.
One of the things you’ll appreciate most about Three Bears is its location. You can walk from the cabin to restaurants, a grocery store, a coffee shop and art galleries. Or, hop in your car and drive to downtown Ruidoso. It takes just a couple minutes and there’s so much to see and do. Be sure to visit the horse races, the casino and the zip-line that runs year-round up at Ruidoso Winter Park. Of course, skiing is a short drive away and some of the most beautiful vistas you’ll find anywhere are waiting for you within Lincoln National Forest.
You’ll enjoy a wonderful vacation when you reserve Big Bear in the Apache Village in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Book your preferred dates today!
Please remember that Ruidoso is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. This can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads. 4x4 or chains may be required during winter months to access your home.

The informational forms that were given to me were inaccurate and unhelpful. The WiFi information was incorrect. The map on the back with parking information was wrong. Use guest portal for correct information.

Fully understand that this is a cabin in mountain settings. However it is on a main road going thru town. We paid a $1000 per night to stay there and felt it was too much money due to some areas outside were not kept up to the standard of having paid visitors and some health and safety issues on the inside.

Great for a group wanting to entertain together but spread out for some privacy at the end of the day. Needs some updating. On a very busy street, with no sound proofing. This is worse for the street side cabin. Most cabins we visit have some sort of games, cards or similar for entertainment, this one does not so bring your own. Lots of stairs

+ the view. lots of rooms and space, close by down town, everything so close by. grocery store, restaurants, police station. All fun activities were close by, clothing stores (everything was closed due to COVID-19) - that it was 3 different cabins. in the pictures it showed as 1 huge cabin with lots of rooms, but in real life, there was a big one, a middle one and a small one. The fact that almost everything was closed due to COVID-19 was a shocking. We were actually lucky to get in into a horse riding. Needs more cleaning on the outside, there was lots of spider webs giving the cabins that spooky look.
