Coligny is one of Hilton Head’s most popular beaches, and when you stay at Xanadu 19-A you can walk there in just five minutes. But you don’t even have to leave the condo complex to partake of fun in the sun, thanks to its swimming pool and tennis courts.

A two-bedroom, two bathroom condo, Xanadu 19-A can sleep as many as six people. Each bedroom has its own flat-screen TV, generous storage, and an en-suite bathroom with a combination shower/tub. The primary bedroom is a spacious retreat: Prop yourself up against the pillows of your king-size bed and watch TV, surf the web via the free WiFi, or read before drifting to sleep. Furnished with a pair of full-size beds, the second bedroom can sleep four people. It’s a great space for the kids or for parents who need to be in the same room as their little ones. Additional guests can sleep in the living area, courtesy of the queen-size sofa bed.

Speaking of the living area, it’s furnished in casual, comfortable style. The sliding glass doors that open onto the balcony ensure that the room is bright and airy. Overlooking Xanadu Villas’ lagoon, the balcony features a bistro table and chairs, making it an ideal spot for enjoying your morning coffee or a nightcap in the silvery moonlight. The salt-kissed ocean breeze is guaranteed to put you in a blissful state of mind.

When it comes to dining, you have multiple options. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance and even more just a quick drive away. You can grill and dine alfresco at the complex’s picnic area, set among graceful palmetto palm trees. Or you can cook and eat in. Xanadu 19-A’s kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you could need, whether you’re scrambling eggs for breakfast, hosting a Thanksgiving gathering, or making popcorn to snack on while watching your favorite cable shows on the living area’s flat-screen TV.

When you arrive at Xanadu 19-A, the beds will be perfectly made up, plenty of clean towels will be in both bathrooms, and extra bedding will be ready and waiting, so you can make a shower or a nap your first order of business. For added convenience, there’s a coin-operated washer and dryer on each floor of the complex.

The grounds of Xanadu Villas are lushly landscaped. When you want to play tennis on one of the complex’s two courts, you’ll cross a charming footbridge over the lagoon—perhaps you’ll spy fish, turtles, or ducks on the way. Even closer is the swimming pool, which includes broad steps for easy access. After your swim, laze on a poolside chaise and bask in the sunshine and the trilling of towhees and warblers.

Xanadu Villas has a walkway to the beach. What a pleasure to be able to walk back and forth as you please, rather than have to load up the car, contend with traffic, and hunt for parking. Should you tire of swimming, paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, and parasailing in the Atlantic Ocean or of collecting seashells and watching for whales on the pristine white sands, there’s plenty more to do nearby. Hilton Head is known for its golf courses; Shipyard Golf Club and Atlantic Dunes by Davis Love III are less than ten minutes from Xanadu 19-A. Equally close is Sea Pines Forest Preserve, home to the 4,000-year-old Sea Pines Shell Ring. Dolphin- and whale-watching tours are a great way to observe local sea life; for birdwatching and the chance to see turtles and even alligators, explore Pinckney Island National Wildlife Preserve. And the delightful city of Savannah is only an hour away.
