You’ll know you’re in the woods far from the congestion and hubbub or everyday life when you stay at Moose Manor. Your walls, cabinets, and floors are all made of pine and outside your doors are acres of pine trees. You may even see an occasional deer or wild turkey meander through the property. It’s hard to imagine a more idyllic mountain retreat than Moose Manor in picturesque Ruidoso, New Mexico.
If you visit Moose Manor in winter, it’s wise to come in a four-wheel-drive vehicle and/or chains. Ruidoso is a mountain town and roads can be icy and snow-packed despite the best efforts to keep them clear.
Moose Manor is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom air-conditioned cabin that sleeps six comfortably. When you walk in the front door you’ll instantly catch the mountain vibe. Vaulted ceilings and generously sized windows give the space an open, airy feel and nature come in through every window.
Your days will probably be spent skiing, hiking, golfing, or exploring the many interesting galleries and shops of Ruidoso. In the evening it will be fun to gather in the comfortable living room furniture to catch some cable TV or watch a movie on the VCR or DVD player. With the wood-burning fireplace crackling, it feels like everything is right in the world. You also have free Wi-Fi when you stay at Moose Manor. It’s great for staying in touch with friends or checking out websites for area attractions.
In all, there are four TVs within Moose Manor and three DVD players. If you don’t like what’s showing in the living room, check out the TV in one of the bedrooms.
One of the spaces you’ll enjoy most at Moose Manor is the covered deck that looks out on the open woods and grasses. Whether it’s gathering for a morning cup of coffee or an evening cocktail, you’ll love this private space out in the mountain air. There’s also a gas grill outdoors so you can prepare steaks of the fish you catch in Rio Ruidoso.
You can always go down to the center of Ruidoso and enjoy some tasty local cuisine and live entertainment. But, if you want to dine at Moose Manor, you have a fully equipped kitchen ready and waiting for you to prepare your favorite recipes. On a cold winter’s night, there’s nothing like a hearty bowl of chili around the nearby dining table. You’ll love the antler chandelier. It’s just one little extra that adds to the cozy mountain ambiance of Moose Manor.
Two of your bedrooms are on the first floor: a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and a guest room with a queen-sized bed. The third bedroom with a double bed is located upstairs. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom with shower/tub combination. Mornings are so much more peaceful and hassle-free when no one has to wait around for a turn in the shower. It’s a convenience everyone in your group will appreciate.
Another convenience of staying at Moose Manor is the washer and dryer. No hauling a car full of clothes down to a Laundromat. Just start a load of wash in your cabin and get back to what’s really important: skiing, golfing, hiking, and being together.
