Description for Midtown HideAway
Midtown Hideaway is just a short walk from the galleries, shops and eateries of Ruidoso’s Sudderth Drive. When you dine on home’s wraparound deck amid the Ponderosa pines or gaze out at the snowcapped mountains from its loft, you’ll feel at one with nature and far removed from the everyday—and that’s a glorious feeling.
A chalet-style home on a quiet lane, Midtown HideAway can sleep as many as six people. The log-style furnishings of the primary bedroom give it a laid-back rustic vibe. One of its doors opens directly onto the deck. After the kids are asleep you and your sweetheart can step outside and treat yourself to a romantic nightcap beneath the star-studded sky before snuggling into the queen-size bed. Then watch TV, surf the web via the free Wi-Fi, read or let the rustling of the mountain breeze through the trees serenade you to sleep.
In addition to bunk beds, the second bedroom includes its own flat-screen TV. Two more people can sleep in the loft, which has yet another TV and a futon that opens into a bed for two. If you’re not using it for a bedroom, the loft is a great place for the kids to play—there’s loads of space on the carpet for them to sprawl out—or for you to escape for a nap. And the mountain view is glorious!
Back on Midtown HideAway’s main floor is the inviting great room. A double-height wall of windows allows you to gaze out over the trees while letting in plenty of sunshine. Furnished with a leather roll-arm sofa and two roomy recliners, the living area is as comfortable as it is charming. The stone-surround fireplace is sure to be a favorite gathering spot when you return from skiing or snowshoeing, and just above it is the home’s fourth TV.
The great room’s dining area includes a log-style table, benches, and stools. In warmer weather, though, you might prefer to dine alfresco, at the deck’s bistro table. The trilling hummingbirds and larks will provide the perfect soundtrack. You can cook outdoors too, on the deck’s gas grill. Back indoors, Midtown HideAway’s kitchen is fully equipped with stainless-steel appliances, cookware and tableware; all you have to supply is food and an appetite. What’s more, the open-plan layout means you can keep an eye on the kids playing a game at the dining table or watch TV while you cook. Plus, the available washer and dryer mean you won't have to waste precious vacation time at a laundromat!
Then again, given how many restaurants are nearby, you might not do much cooking at all. Midtown HideAway’s spectacular location means you’re close not only to restaurants but also a plethora of local attractions. As we mentioned, Sudderth Drive is within walking distance, as is Grindstone Stables, where you can enjoy an hour-long guided tour on horseback, and Wingfield Park which hosts many events throughout the year. Just a bit farther is Grindstone Lake and Trail System; here you can fish, boat, hike, ride mountain bikes and horses, and play disc golf, and you might spy ospreys, mule deer, black bears, and elk while there. In 15 minutes or less you can drive to the Hubbard Museum of the American West, the Inn of the Mountain Gods and Billy the Kid casinos, and the trout-stocked Alto Lake. Ski Apache, the southernmost continually operating ski resort in the country, is just 45 minutes away.
When you stay at Midtown HideAway you’ll enjoy the best of all worlds: proximity to plenty of activities and attractions, plus a serene, restful setting. Book your stay today… before someone else beats you to it! Please remember that Ruidoso is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. This can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads. 4x4 or chains may be required during winter months to access your home.
